Every year, Newark's Community Day is a great opportunity to learn about many of our area organizations and agencies, as well as fun events for families. The 23rd RD Democratic Committee will have a table - please come to meet your slate of candidates for the 2026 election, and learn about the goals and priorities of the local Democratic Party.

The City of Newark's Parks and Recreation Department, in cooperation with the University of Delaware, and the Christina School District present the area's premier festival on Sunday, September 20. This exciting event features fun for the entire family.
The Green provides the perfect outdoor venue for local musicians and demonstration groups. A food court will have a variety of foods. Fine Art and Homemade Craft vendors will be displaying and selling their creations. The Children's Area is always a big hit with scarecrow making and more. Community information booths and activities are supplied by a variety of local businesses and organizations.
Please remember that pets are not comfortable in the heat and crowds of large events, so for their safety and the safety of those attending the event, please leave your pets at home.
